To understand what happen in slavery you need to have the ability to empathise. This is a list of methods you can use to empathise with the plight of enslaved africans and their descendants:

Imagine someone defecating in your mouth, and you had to chew then swallow or you would be beaten.

Imagine being 9 months pregnant and you were kicked in your stomach because you had to take a break from the field work.

Get a hot iron and press it down on your face and hold it there for five seconds.

Imagine Hitler was made a focus of reverence because he abolished the gas camps.

Imagine being told you are rubbish over and over, and then you believe you are rubbish, and then you teach your children to be rubbish.

Imagine watching your son and daughter being raped.

Imagine being sent to prison for life for a crime you never committed.

Imagine your child being kidnapped.

Imagine your worldly experiences are confined to 40 acres of land.

Imagine having your child named Joy by a pedophile slave master.

Imagine the psychological damage in knowing you have no control over your life.

Imagine being hated because you are going bald.
